Max Levchin
Slide
Max is the visionary behind Slide, the largest social software company in the world. He is also renowned as the co-founder of PayPal, an expert in combating online fraud and one of the hardest working entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. Before starting Slide, he incubated several other start-ups, including Yelp, where he currently sits as Chairman of the Board. Max started PayPal in 1998, immediately after graduating from college, and sold it four years later to eBay for more than $1.5 billion at the age of 26. Originally from Kiev, Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union), Max moved to Chicago at the age of 16 and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Max sits on the board of several other companies and trains for triathlons when he’s not obsessing over Slide’s business.

Slide is a social entertainment company that develops fun widgets that are used by social sites such as facebook and myspace. Max was asked how their company makes money and he responded with the obvious answer that Advertisement brings in the money. However advertisement is somewhat different in Slides world as they are done through partnerships and engagements for brands.

Max has been traveling in Japan and was impressed by the high usage of mobile and virtual products that are generating a ton of money such as purchasing new shirts an hair for avitars and virtual representations.

Slide current is boasting 70 million users that they have being gained directly through the social network sites that can utilize slide widgets.

The newest Microsoft product / architecture is the ability to connect all devices you own to each other through the web. This takes your Home PC, Office PC, Kids PC, Mobile Phone, Xbox/Playstation, and any other device you own and makes them talk to each other and keep synchronized.

You can also set up live mesh networks in which you can connect with family and friends to create high powered and connected networks.

The product offers complete synchronization across pictures , data, apps and everything. Utilizes Atom, RSS, JSON, POX, and XML.
